An Irish journalist has gone insanely viral for shutting down a pro-Brexit group's tweet about a boxer
ON SATURDAY NIGHT, heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua defeated Wladimir Klitschko in a spectacular fight that has already been hailed as a classic.
Afterwards, Leave.EU, an organisation that campaigned for Brexit, posted a photo of Joshua with his fists raised and wrote, “Knocked out and grovelling, how the EU will be feeling in just under two years time.”
The victorious Anthony Joshua represents Britain, you see, and Klitschko represents the European Union. Sophisticated stuff.
The tweet was roundly mocked with followers calling it “daft” and pointing out some embarrassing discrepancies in the tweet.

Among those to weigh in on the tweet was Irish journalist Conor McNamara.
The BBC commentator pointed out the hypocrisy of Leave.EU embracing Anthony Joshua when they have previously railed against immigration, pointing out that Joshua is of Nigerian and Irish descent. (His paternal grandmother is Irish.)
“Anthony Joshua is of Nigerian/Irish descent,” he wrote. “He’s actually living proof of how immigration has benefitted Briain.”

The tweet has since been retweeted over 12,000 times and has been applauded for shutting down Leave.EU.
